Dhanbad/Chatra: There was relief on Thursday from the continuous rain in Koyalanchal for the last five days. It rained very little today. The day was sunny. However, it became cloudy again in the evening. It also drizzled at some places. It was raining intermittently in Dhanbad since the night of 30 September. Especially during the last three days it rained heavily. Life here became disrupted due to torrential rains till late Wednesday night. Everywhere was filled with water. The situation had become dire especially in the low lying areas. Kutcha houses collapsed at many places. Asbestos roofing was blown away at many places. It had become difficult for people to leave their homes. It rained heavily in many areas around 7 am on Thursday. The sky started clearing after eight o’clock. Slowly the sun started coming out. By afternoon the entire sky cleared. Today the maximum temperature here was recorded at 30 and minimum at 25 degrees. Humidity increased to 92 percent. Due to this, it was feeling hot during the day.

As the evening approached, dense dark clouds covered the sky. It seemed that there would be heavy rain, but there was light drizzle in some areas. The wind speed also remained almost normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather here is expected to remain clear for the next one week. However, there is a possibility of cloudy sky on Friday and Saturday. At present, there is no possibility of much difference in mercury. Before Navratri, the maximum temperature here is likely to be between 32 to 34 degrees and the minimum temperature will be between 24 to 25 degrees.

Diseases increasing due to continuous change in weather
Due to continuously changing weather patterns in Dhanbad, the incidence of seasonal diseases has also increased. Especially more patients suffering from diseases like cold, seasonal fever, cough and dengue are coming. There is a possibility of further increase in these diseases after the rains.
