Jharkhand: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will come to Hazaribagh today, how are the preparations in BSF training camp Meru?

Hazaribagh, Salauddin: Hazaribagh Border Security Force Meru Center is all set and ready for the 59th BSF Foundation Day and Parade. Director General of Border Security Force Nitin Aggarwal has reached Hazaribagh. Many senior officers of BSF have also been camping here for many days. The entire complex has been decorated for the arrival of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will come to Hazaribagh Meru Training Center in a special BSF aircraft in the afternoon of 30th December. BSF and Hazaribagh district administration officials will welcome him. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in all the programs on December 1. Preparations were being made for the last one month under the leadership of Meru Center IG KS Baliyan, which has now been completed. Let us tell you that police officers from Jharkhand and other states, police officers from friendly nations are also given training here. In 1986, arrangements were made to impart training to newly recruited trainees at BSF Meru Hazaribagh campus.

Glorious history of Border Security Force Training Center Meru Hazaribagh

Amidst the natural beauty and attraction of Hazaribagh, training centers for soldiers and paramilitary forces have been established here. This center of Hazaribagh has the distinction of Center of Excellence. There is a Border Security Force training center and school in Meru village on the Bagodar road, ten kilometers from Hazaribagh city. It was established in Hazaribagh on 18 November 1966. Later it was shifted to Meru on 25 March 1967. The training campus is spread over 1189 acres of land, surrounded by lush green valleys on all sides. There are seven big lakes. The Siwane River on the northern border enhances its beauty. The three important institutions of Border Security Force Training Center and School, Tekanpur, Indore and Hazaribagh have a glorious history. Hazaribagh Training Center is a leading center for trainee accommodation, outdoor training site and weapons operation techniques. Here the soldier has to go through rigorous training. There are three parts of training here. Specialist Training School, which provides specialized training in MMGUIPT, jungle warfare techniques and field engineering to all levels of Border Security Force. Basic training is given to newly appointed trainees in the Basic Training Centre. Works to increase the work efficiency of soldiers and officers in administrative institutions. Special training is given to anti-terrorist police commandos, explosive use and rescue. Training is given on automatic grenade launcher, medium machine gun and many modern weapons. This center also provides training in bomb disposal to the Border Security Force. There is a provision for training civilian police personnel also.

Arrangement for training trainees

Police officers from Jharkhand and other states, police officers from friendly nations are also given training here. In 1986, arrangements were made to impart training to newly recruited trainees at BSF Meru Hazaribagh campus. Keeping in view the possibilities of hockey and football in Jharkhand, the selection work to identify meritorious players was started in 1992. Talented players from rural areas got opportunities here. Players were specially trained in football and hockey. Players are also trained here every year to participate in international games. Inter Frontier Sports Competitions have been organized here many times. More than 500 players from all frontiers of Border Security Force have participated in the competition. In this centre, Rani Jhansi Ground is witness to many historical moments, from where thousands of new trainees are engaged in serving and protecting the country by taking the oath of the Constitution. Border Security Force personnel have been making valuable contribution in maintaining eternal peace in the country, dealing with terrorists and protecting the nation during times of war.

Origin of BSF

The Border Security Force came into existence in 1965. At that time the borders of the border states were guarded by the state police. Was not that capable of meeting security needs. During the invasion of China and Pakistan in the 60s, the then Union Home Secretary LP Singh and General JN Choudhary, Chief of Army Staff, felt the need for a paramilitary force that could protect the country’s borders. Can be used for border security and internal peace of the country in normal and war situations. That force should maintain 24-hour vigil on the border. On September 1, 1665, 25 battalions of Rajasthan Armed Police, Punjab Armed Police, Tripura Armed Police and Assam Armed Police were deployed for this work. Later they were designated as Border Security Force. Whose headquarters was made in Delhi. Ashwini Kumar was made the head of the western sector and PK Pashu was made the head of the eastern sector.
