About 40 to 50 percent of the population of the eight panchayats of Ghatshila is forced to live in slums and kutcha houses. PM is tired of applying for accommodation. Poor families are surviving on broken houses or by giving away plastic and tarpaulins. A large population here does not even have land documents.

10 thousand applications have been received for PM housing, not a single approval
