Jharkhand: Truck driver shot dead for stealing diesel, seven criminals arrested

Actually, the whole matter is that on the night of 28th September, some criminals had shot and injured a truck driver on the bypass GT Road near Isri Turitola of Nemiaghat police station area. Who died during treatment in Dhanbad. The deceased driver was identified as Santu Prajapati, a resident of Bhilwara, Rajasthan. It is noteworthy that the bearing of the rear flywheel of the trailer truck number RJ 09 GB-1109 was broken, due to which the truck driver and the helper had parked the truck near Turitola and slept in the cabin. According to Khalasi Suresh Chandra, a resident of Bhilwara, Rajasthan, the truck broke down at around 1 o’clock and the driver and both of them were sleeping in the cabin. After hearing some noise in the truck, the driver and the helper saw from inside the cabin that two-three people were trying to open the diesel tank. After shouting from inside the truck, a person came near the cabin, showed a revolver and asked to remain silent. In the same sequence, the driver went north with the rod from the other side. Seeing the driver alighting with a rod, the criminals opened fire.

The driver was shot in the thigh and fell on the road. During this the criminals fired three bullets. Hearing the noise of the people nearby, the criminal who came in the car started running away, the villagers informed about the firing. Giridih Given to the police. But the criminals escaped. The injured driver, Santu Prajapati, a resident of Bhilwara, Rajasthan, was referred to Dhanbad from Dumri Referral Hospital, but 35-year-old driver Santu Prajapati died as soon as he reached Dhanbad. After the incident, the police team was continuously conducting raids to arrest the criminals.

When the police started strictly interrogating the arrested criminals, all the criminals admitted their involvement in the incident and said that their gang used to steal diesel from trucks parked at night on GT Road via Dhanbad. Told that this gang includes many members who have been doing this work for a long time. He steals diesel from trucks and sells it. It was told that on the night of 29th September, Taylor train number RJ-09 GB 1106 had left for Gwalior Madhya Pradesh after loading iron blades from Durgapur in West Bengal. During police interrogation, the criminals told that on the night of the incident, Jhandri Mahato, Yogendra Mahato alias Chhotu (the person who drove the four-wheeler in the robbery) and Aslam Hussain took away Rafiq Asari’s car with his consent and their other permanent residents Saddam Ansari, Sarukh, Shahid Akhtar was keeping a watch on GT Road and giving the location of other parked vehicles and other activities. All three, Jhangri Mahato, Yogendra Mahato alias Chhotu and Aslam Hussain ji, left in Rafiq Ansari’s car. On reaching near Niniaghat Bypass hill in T Road, Taylor reached near car number RJ-09GB-1106 which was parked on the side of the road and started trying to extract diesel from the car. Meanwhile, Taylor’s driver and attendant woke up and came down and started interrogating him. Meanwhile, an altercation started between them and accused Jhandri Mahato took out his pistol and fired at the driver of the tailor car due to which the driver got shot and then the driver died during treatment.

SIT was formed on the instructions of SP

After the incident, SIT was formed on the instructions of Giridih SP Deepak Kumar Sharma. In which Nimiaghat police station in-charge Sadhan Kumar, Pt. Saroj Singh Choudhary, Pt. Omprakash Chauhan, Pt. Aseem Kujur, Pt. Nicholas Soren, Pt. Satyendra Kumar, Sunil Kumar Singh etc. were included. On the instructions of the SP, raids were started in different areas to arrest the criminals, after which the police arrested seven members of the gang one by one. The police have arrested all the seven criminals and sent them to jail.
