Jharkhand: Thunderstorm during Rath Yatra in Hazaribagh’s Jagannath Dham temple, two dead, a dozen injured

Jharkhand News: During the Rath Yatra at Jagannath Dham temple located in Silvas Pahar under Sadar block of Hazaribagh district, two devotees died due to thunderbolt, while a dozen were injured. All the injured have been admitted to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital. On the other hand, a 10-year-old child also died due to lightning in Bundu of Keredari.

Devotees participating in Rath Yatra struck by lightning

With the onset of monsoon in Jharkhand, the incidence of lightning has also started increasing. Under this, the incident of thunderbolt occurred during the Rath Yatra on Tuesday. The incident of thunderbolt happened during the Rath Yatra in the Jagannath Dham Temple complex located at Silvas Pahar in Hazaribagh. Two devotees died in this accident around 5.15 pm. A dozen devotees were injured there. All the injured were admitted to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital, Hazaribagh for treatment.

Two devotees killed and a dozen injured due to lightning

Sudhanshu Pandey and 16-year-old Arun Kumar Gupta died in this accident. Sadar SDO Vidya Bhushan Kumar confirmed the death of two devotees and injuries to a dozen devotees. The SDO said that all the injured are being treated better. During this, the SDO and CO reached the hospital to know about the condition of the injured.

Child dies due to lightning in Bundu, mourning among relatives

On the other hand, Suraj Kumar, 10-year-old son of Jitendra Turi, a resident of Bundu Mandtand of Keredari police station area, died after being hit by lightning. Regarding the incident, the villagers told that Jitendra Turi had gone with his son for some work next to the house. Meanwhile, it started raining with strong thunderstorms. Suraj was badly injured by a sudden thunderclap. Father Jitendra Turi narrowly escaped. With the help of father and villagers, Suraj was taken to Bachra Hospital for treatment in an injured condition, where the doctors declared the child dead. Due to the death of the child, there is an atmosphere of mourning in the family including the village. On information about the incident, Bundu chief Tulsi Turi reached the house of the deceased and consoled the victim’s family. Expressed confidence to cooperate. Talked about providing compensation to the relatives of the deceased.
