Jharkhand: Three smugglers arrested with opium worth Rs 3 lakh, XUV-300 and cash Rs 92 thousand seized.

Chatra, Showdown: Chatra Sadar police recovered three lakhs from Unta village opium Along with this, three smugglers have been arrested. The arrested smugglers include Niku Kumar (father late Jagdish Dangi), resident of Unta village, Rohit Kumar (father Umesh Kumar Dangi) and Kuleshwar Dangi (father Kedar Dangi), resident of Dariyatu village. Apart from two kilos of opium, Rs 92 thousand in cash, a Mahindra XUV-300 vehicle (JH 13 J 2604), a digital measuring machine and a mobile were seized from the smugglers. SDPO Avinash Kumar gave this information in a press conference on Tuesday in the Sadar police station premises.

Three smugglers arrested

SDPO Avinash Kumar said that Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan had received secret information that two persons were doing illegal opium business in XUV vehicle in Unta. In the light of information, a raid team was formed under the leadership of trainee DSP Wasim Raza. The team took immediate action and searched the XUV vehicle parked near Neeku Kumar’s house. In which one kilogram of opium was seized. After this, on the behest of arrested Neeku, one kilo of opium was seized from his house. Also Rohit was arrested. On the behest of both, opium seller Kuleshwar Dangi was arrested from Dariyatu village with Rs 92 thousand in cash. In this regard, a case of NDPS Act was registered under Sadar police station case number 400/23 and all the smugglers were sent to jail.

There was a plan to consume opium in UP

According to the information, Kuleshwar had brought opium from Khunti and sold it to Neeku and Rohit. There was a plan to export opium to Uttar Pradesh. Apart from the trainee DSP, the raid team included Sadar police station in-charge Manohar Karmali, police sub-inspector Naeem Ansari, ASI Nirmal Kumar Singh, Arundutt Sharma and many district force personnel.
