Ranchi: Ranchi University The Faculty of Tribal and Regional Languages (TRL) of Jharkhand celebrated the 74th birth anniversary of Padmashree Dr. Giridhari Ram Gaunjhu, the senior most penman of Jharkhand and a multifaceted personality. The welcome song was conducted by research scholars Budheshwar Badaik and Chandrika Kumari, conducted by Neha Bhagat and Vicky Minz, while the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Riju Nayak, assistant professor of Nagpuri department. On the occasion, former Head of Department of Nagpuri Department, Dr. Umesh Nand Tiwari, while sharing the moments spent with Dr. Giridhari Ram Gaunjhu, said that Dr. Giridhari Ram Gaunjhu was innately filled with Jharkhandi folk music songs. He was a person who thought beyond caste, religion and sect. Dr. Gaunjhu, who had equal authority on various subjects, was proficient in various disciplines. He said that Dr. Gaunjhu was the only person who wrote in the culture, language and geographical context of Jharkhand. As a whole, he used to take the entire Jharkhand together. He said that Dr. Gaunjhu, who was dedicated to his work, was an ocean in terms of knowledge. He was a person with a wonderful personality. He was always readily available to help others. No person has ever returned from his door empty handed.
Jharkhandi sensibility is reflected in the creations
While presiding over the birth anniversary, Head of Mundari Department, Manay Munda, said that Jharkhandi sensibility is easily reflected in the works of Padmashree Dr. Giridhari Ram Gaunjhu, who is blessed with all the virtues. He worked to give a new status to Jharkhandi language and culture. Bandhu Bhagat, Head of the Khadiya Department, said that Dr. Giridhari Ram Gaunjhu was directly concerned with social and cultural activities. He was very happy meeting common people. They are never tied to one language. He always encouraged and supported the new language students, researchers and cultural workers of the department. Such personality and work, which is always available to the common people, cannot be easily forgotten.
Dr. Giridhari Ram Gaunjhu was a walking encyclopedia
Professor Dr. Birendra Kumar Mahato said that Gurudev and guide Dr. Gaunjhu were a walking encyclopedia. He said that Dr. Gaunjhu always remained with him like a shadow in every happiness and sorrow. Was like a true guide. He will always live among us for his multifaceted personality and scholarship. Dr. Riju Nayak said that whatever I am today, my guardian Guru Dr. Giridhari Ram Gaunjhu has played a big role in it. It is because of him that I have reached this position today. His contribution to language, literature and culture is unforgettable.
Always worried about Jharkhand
Dr. Saraswati Gagrai, Professor of Ho Language Department, while sharing the golden moments spent as a student, said that Dr. Gaunjhu always used to say that Dona Debe Muda Kona Nai. He was always worried about Jharkhand. He always remained alert towards Jharkhandi languages. Apart from these, TRL faculty Shakuntala Besra, Gurucharan Purti, Yugesh Prajapati, Shweta Kumari also threw light on the life of Dr. Gaunjhu. Apart from Abnezer Tete, Anuradha Mundu, Vijay Anand, Ravi Kumar, Praveen Kumar, Sonu Kumar of the Faculty of Tribal and Regional Languages, many other faculty members, students and researchers were present on the occasion.
