Jharkhand: The condition of 32 Birhor families in Bandgaon, West Singhbhum is quite pathetic, they are deprived of basic facilities.

Jharkhand News: The condition of 32 Birhor families located in Kandeyong forest village of Bandgaon block, a highly Naxal affected area under West Singhbhum district, is quite pathetic. These Birhors still do not have access to even basic facilities. In view of their problems, a meeting was organized on Monday under the chairmanship of village Munda Som Chand Birhor. People’s Welfare Association Secretary cum social worker Dr. Vijay Singh Gagrai was mainly present in this meeting.

No one listens to these birhors

In the meeting, village Munda Som Chand Birhor said that till now basic facilities have not been provided by the Jharkhand government. Said that he has been living in this area for more than 20 years. Despite this, no one is taking any notice till date. The situation is such that due to lack of housing, even today the Birhors here are forced to live in houses made of wooden planks. At the same time, they are forced to live their lives by covering their houses with plastic. Said that till now not a single permanent house has been made available by the government.

Caste, income and residential certificates are not being made

Due to non-availability of forest lease to the people in the village, the people of Birhor caste are neither able to get caste certificate nor income and residential certificate. Because of which the children are facing a lot of problems in their studies and jobs. It is said that neither there is any employment for us in this area nor electricity has come here till now. The condition of drinking water is also pathetic. There was not a single boring here so that the villagers could get drinking water.

Administration is also not taking care

It is said that all the Birhors could not even get blankets in the cold while ration cards of many Birhors could not be made. No concrete step has been taken by the administration to provide basic facilities and facilities to Birhor. Due to which the Birhors here are living their life in very bad condition.

Administrative officers come, but do not take care

Apart from this, neither the Prime Minister’s residence, nor the goat shed, nor the building of the Anganwadi center has been built in this area. But, look at the situation, BDO, CO and SDO come equally in this area. Despite this, they do not see the condition of these Birhors. The Birhors here are very backward in the name of development.

Birhor living by making rope

He said that Bharat Seva Shram had opened a handloom cloth weaving center in Kundrubuttu for the employment of Bihars. In this, Birhars were given training and made to weave cloth. But now this has also been closed due to which Birhors have become unemployed. At present some Birhors are living their life by making rope from the bark of trees. But due to not having that much income, our situation is quite pathetic.

Will give full information to DC

Hearing the problems of Birhor, Dr. Vijay Singh Gagrai said that the people of Birhor family here are facing many problems. We understand their problem. But due to lack of forest lease, these people are not able to get government benefits. He said that information about these problems will be given to DC. Said that it will be our endeavor to provide all the facilities of the government to these Birhor families. On this occasion, a large number of Birhors including Budhram Birhor, Shyam Birhor, Pani Birhor, Budhram Birhor, Bahadur Birhor, Somol Birhor, Budhani Birhor, Usha Birhor were present.
