The court of Principal District and Sessions Judge (PDJ) of Garhwa Behavioral Court has sentenced the then headmaster of Government Girls High School Harinath Singh and teacher Rakesh Kumar to three years in jail each for negligence in filling the examination form of 10th class student Sanju Kumari. And sentenced to a fine of Rs 10,000 each. PDJ has upheld the sentence of the CJM court. It may be noted that Sanju Kumari, daughter of Kashinath Shukla, resident of Vishunpur Mohalla of Garhwa, had filled the form for the matriculation examination in the year 2007.

When she went to the school to collect her admit card after the exam date was out, she was told that her admit card had not arrived from Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC). When she went to school the next day, she was told the same thing. On this he applied to the then Deputy Commissioner and sought permission to take the examination. On this, the Deputy Commissioner not only allowed Sanju to take the exam but also ordered an investigation in this regard.

After this, student Sanju took the examination of two papers. Meanwhile, the matter came to light that Sanju’s examination form had not been sent to Jack. After this Sanju could not appear in further examinations. His one year was wasted due to this. In protest against this, Sanju’s father Kashinath Shukla filed a case against the headmaster and the controller of examinations in the police station.

After the FIR was registered, both were found guilty in the investigation. It was said that the school has not sent Sanju’s examination form to the Jharkhand Academic Council. After this report was presented in the court, the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court convicted Sanju Kumari for wasting one year’s time, holding the headmaster Harinath Singh and Rakesh Kumar guilty.

Both the accused teachers applied in the court of the Principal District and Sessions Judge against this decision of the CJM court. After the hearing here, the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Rajesh Sharan Singh has given its verdict upholding the sentence of the lower court. It has been said that the one year lost by the student due to the negligence of the teachers cannot be compensated under any circumstances.
