Jharkhand: Student attempted suicide, students of Shine Nursing College took to the streets

Ranchi: Shubham Kumar (22), a third year B.Sc Nursing student of Abdurr Razzaq Ansari Shine College of Nursing, Oyna, attempted suicide by hanging himself in a room in the college premises at 10:30 pm on Wednesday night. As soon as the information was received, Shubham was immediately admitted to Medanta Hospital by the college management. Dr. Anand Kumar Jha, who is treating him, said that Shubham’s condition is out of danger.

Shubham, who lives in the college hostel, is the son of Pappu Singh, originally a resident of Mokama, Bihar. As soon as the information about the incident was received, mother Pinky and father Pappu Singh reached the college on Thursday. They told the journalists that their son Shubham was being harassed by the college management. Fed up with him, he took this step. While hanging himself, he had sent a message to his parents, ‘I love you so much, good boy everyone’. Seeing the message his mother sent him the message please call me. But Shubham did not answer.

Before hanging himself, Shubham had also sent a photo of the noose around his neck with the help of a fan. Here, after the incident, students reached Medanta Hospital and created ruckus and protested at the main gate against the college management. After this, everyone left from there to go to the CM’s Kanke Road residence to meet him regarding action against the college management. During this time, when Ormanjhi police tried to stop them, the students got into trouble.

After this, many students reached Maharaja Madra Munda Chowk of Sangrampur on foot via Ring Road at around 2.30 pm, where the already alert police of Pithoria police station stopped them by barricading and took six into custody. During this period there was also a scuffle. Three girl students fainted due to the heat while walking. He was admitted to the hospital by ambulance. The police forcibly sent all the students to the hostel by making them sit in a bus at around 5.30 pm. During this time, there was a queue of vehicles going from Kanke to Ring Road. The students made many allegations against the college director Arif Ahmed Ansari, including harassing them without any reason. Pithoria police station in-charge Abhay Kumar said that no FIR has been lodged by the student who attempted suicide and his family. Action will be taken against the college management only after the FIR is registered.

College center manager Pooja Prakash reached Sangrampur to meet the protesting students. He announced waiver of examination fees and fines from the students present there.

Parents said college management tortures their son

Shubham Kumar’s father Pappu Singh and mother Pinky Devi said that their son was harassed by the college management. The son used to call many times and say that mom will not be able to bear the torture anymore. Will leave studies and come home. On Wednesday night at 10.10 pm, he sent a message in which it was written ‘Good Bye Everyone’. After this again his message came, I love you so much papa. Till today you have done everything for me and I cannot trouble you. I will live well.

Shubham was under stress due to failure in four subjects: Management

Regarding the incident, college principal Mohd Asif Muzmil said that the result of B.Sc third semester was released by the university on Wednesday. Shubham has failed in four subjects. He was stressed about this and attempted suicide at night. He said that the university conducts the examination and releases the results there itself. What is the fault of the college management in this?
