Ranchi: On behalf of Jharkhand Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (JBVNL) Ranchi Work is being done to install prepaid smart meters in all the houses. So far prepaid meters have been installed in 1.45 lakh houses. JBVNL has said that people who have prepaid smart meters installed in their homes have been provided account numbers through SMS on the mobile numbers registered by JBVNL. Consumers will have to register themselves in the portal by visiting the Citizen Corner of JBVNL website. After successful registration, consumers can view daily consumption and monthly bills.
If prepaid account balance becomes zero, connection disconnected
JBVNL will automatically disconnect the connection once the prepaid account balance becomes zero. After this consumers will have to recharge the account again. JBVNL GM IT Sanjay Singh has issued a notice saying that to avoid automatic disconnection, consumers should keep an eye on their account balance and recharge regularly. He said that prepaid meter works like prepaid function of smart phone. This is the reason why connections of 1700 consumers were automatically disconnected this month. The meter must be recharged before using electricity. You are also informed through SMS before disconnection.
Recharge like this
GM told that to recharge prepaid smart meter, download JBVNL Consumer Self Care App from Play Store. Apart from this, you can also recharge through Google Pay or Phone Pay. Recharge facility has also been provided through ATP machines of JBVNL. Apart from this, you can also recharge through Quick Pay Bill/Prepaid Recharge EPI link by visiting JBVNL website.
