Jharkhand: Plan of 7 lakhs, even 7 plants have not been developed, see the condition of mango horticulture in Kasmar, Bokaro

Kasmar (Bokaro), Deepak question: Many schemes of mango horticulture have been very successful under MNREGA in Kasmar block under Bokaro district. At the same time, in some places the scheme has remained divided. A similar case has come to light in Medha village of Durgapur Panchayat. Here, two schemes of mango horticulture completely fell victim to irregularities and negligence. All the saplings planted under the scheme have been completely destroyed and at present the site has become a flat ground. There is not a single mango plant left at the planning site.

what is the matter

Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 in Medha, two schemes of mango horticulture were approved on the land of Nunibala Devi and Mangri Devi from the plan item for the year 2022-23. Under this, mango plants were to be planted and developed with a quarter to three lakh rupees, but within a year this scheme was completely lost. According to the local villagers, some saplings were definitely planted last year, but they were left to the mercy of God. Under the plan, there is also a provision for its security by encircling, but only food supply was done in the name of encircling. As a result, whatever plants were planted, they gradually became a morsel for the cattle and due to lack of care and protection, some got ruined by drying up. After one year, even seven plants could not grow in these schemes worth about seven and a half lakh rupees.

1.5 lakh rupees withdrawn

According to the information, under the head of the scheme, the employment worker took out about one and a half lakh rupees from both the schemes. When not even a single plant has grown, then there is no one to tell where and how so much money was spent. Deputy Chief Panchanan Mahato said that only food supply work has been done in this scheme. They allege that the Rozgar Sevak has done arbitrary work and never showed seriousness in developing it. This is the reason that both these schemes have proved to be a complete failure.

The matter will be investigated by the chief: BPO-MNREGA

In this regard, Kasmar’s BPO-MNREGA Rakesh Kumar says that the investigation was done after the matter came to the notice. Beneficiaries told that till a few days back there were plants, but some villagers broke the gherao due to road dispute, due to which all the plants were grazed by cattle. The matter will be investigated by the chief. An FIR will be lodged against those who break the gheran.
