Ranchi, Vivek Chandra: A big case of financial irregularities has come to light in the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department. A payment of Rs 1.32 crore has been made by making fake IDs similar to those of the department’s contractor Lorson & Toubro. The amount paid is the amount of security deposit made by Lorsen & Toubro to the department. The amount was paid on March 23 and March 30 of the year 2019-20 by creating five fake payee IDs. Chandrashekhar, the executive engineer of the department, has written a letter to the engineer chief and informed about this. He has expressed the need for a thorough investigation into the matter.
Larsen and Toubro Jharkhand By applying to the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, it was informed that payment had not been made under the agreement. During investigation by the Executive Engineer, it was found that in the year 2020, Rs 89.64 lakh and Rs 42.36 lakh were paid through two checks respectively. When the said amount did not match with any bill, the control number related to the said amount was checked through Bank Advice Kuber Portal. It was found that in both the controls, Larsen & Toubro Limited is mentioned in the payee ID in the copy of bank advice. But, there is no bank details. The payment has been made to five different Payi IDs.
After extracting the e-payment status from Kuber software, it was found that the payment has been made in two different bank accounts. That bank account does not match the bank account provided by Larsen & Toubro. From which it appears clear that by creating five fake Payee IDs similar to the name of Larsen & Toubro, payment has been made in another account.
