Jharkhand: On the 75th anniversary of Kharsawan Martyrdom Day, Governor CP Radhakrishnan inaugurates ‘Kharsawan Remembrance’.

Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Saturday, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Kharsawan Martyrdom Day. Ranchi Inaugurated ‘Kharsawan Remembrance’ at Audrey House. This program was presided over by Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh. Addressing the ‘Fourth National Brainstorming’, Governor CP Radhakrishnan said that Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia was not only a political figure but also a great social reformer. He raised his voice for the rights and equality of people deprived of the mainstream of society. He is our source of inspiration even today. Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia was the first politician who, after the Kharsawan incident, went there and compared the incident with the Jallianwala Bagh incident. He also wrote an article titled ‘Blood bath in Kharsawan’ in his magazine Mankind. Books were unveiled on this occasion. He said that these books related to unique research projects should be available in all universities. He called upon the youth to find out the stories of all the known and unknown freedom fighters and make the society aware of their contribution. He said that today we live in a free country because of the sacrifice of Lord Birsa Munda and other great freedom fighters. It is our duty to express respect and gratitude towards the martyrs. Apart from the participants from Jharkhand, participants from Goa, Telangana, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, New Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and West Bengal participated in this national brainstorming. Former Jharkhand government minister Ramchandra Kesari, Dr. Dinesh Shadangi and the queen mother of Kharsawan royal family also participated in the program.

Governor honored

Governor CP Radhakrishnan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously working for inclusive development. He is a source of inspiration for our youth. With the aim of empowering the youth and the country, ‘Developed India@2047: Voice of Youth’ has been launched. This is the vision of making India a developed nation by the 100th year of independence i.e. 2047. On this occasion, the Governor honored the people coming from different provinces of the country and wished for meaningful discussions in the two-day program.
