In Jharkhand, inspectors and sub-inspectors will now be able to investigate cases registered under the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989. Earlier only DSP level officers had this right. A proposal to amend it has been sent to the cabinet.
This proposal may come in the cabinet meeting to be held on November 22. There is also a possibility of a proposal regarding payment of Rs 1.20 crore to the total 24 victims/dependents of Bokaro in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. This amount will be given from the contingency fund in the light of the recommendation of DP Singh, Chairman of Anti-Sikh Riots Commission (Ranchi). There is also a proposal to give honorarium of Rs 3,000 per month to Parganait instead of Rs 1,000. There is also a proposal in the cabinet to dismiss Dr. Lovleen Pandey, doctor of PHC of Hariharganj (Palamu).
The winter session of Jharkhand Assembly may be convened between 15 and 22 December. Preparations are going on from the government regarding this. Its proposal will be brought to the cabinet by the government. The session will be called after the approval of the cabinet. Sources said that the state government may bring a proposal related to amendment in the pension rules. In case of more than one marriage of a government employee, only the first wife will get the benefit of government facilities. Even after the death of the employee, only the first wife will be able to get the benefit of pension.
