Jharkhand News: CPI Maoists thrashed five villagers fiercely in Dauna village located under Netarhat police station area of Mahuadand block under Latehar district on the charge of being police informers. While 38-year-old Dev Kumar Prajapati’s father Khijhar Prajapati died in the beating, 38-year-old Bhushan Munda’s father Munna Munda, 40-year-old Manraj Prajapati (40), 35-year-old Bablu Ansari’s father, late Abdul Ansari and 55-year-old Patti Brijia’s father, late Thibhu Brijia, resident of Purnadih village of Durup panchayat, were injured in the beating by Maoists. The Maoists have accused everyone of being police informers.

According to the information received in connection with the incident, a squad of two dozen armed CPI Maoists under the leadership of Naxalite Chhotu Kherwar, carrying a prize of Rs 25 lakh, first reached Purnadih village at seven o’clock on Wednesday night. There, after taking out Bablu Ansari and Patti Brijia from the house, tied them with a rope and beat them both. After this, the Maoist squad reached Dauna village at 10 pm.
Dev Kumar died on the spot due to Naxalites beating
After asking the names of Prime Minister’s housing volunteer Manraj Prajapati and former watchman of Netarhat police station Munna Munda’s son Bhushan Munda sitting outside his house, both were beaten up. After that, the Maoist squad caught Devkumar Prajapati and brought him from the house and thrashed him too. Dev Kumar died on the spot after being beaten by the Maoists.
Police raid operation intensified
After this incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in both the villages. According to Mahuadand’s SDPO Rajesh Kujur, the police has intensified the investigation. At the same time, the raid campaign has also been intensified. The police have taken the dead body of the deceased Dev Kumar in custody and sent it to the hospital for postmortem.
