The loss of revenue will be compensated from the liquor selling company and placement agency in Jharkhand. For this, Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited (JSBCL) has filed a certificate case of about 448 crores on the concerned agency. Under the new product policy in the financial year 2022-23, four placement agencies were given the responsibility of selling liquor in the state. A target of Rs 2500 crore revenue was fixed for the new product policy.

Under the product policy, the sale of liquor started from May 1 instead of April 1. Due to this, the target of revenue was reduced from 2500 to 2310 crores. Revenue of 2054 crores was received in the financial year 2022-23. In this, revenue of 1719 crores has been received by selling liquor. The remaining Rs 335 crore has been deposited by JSBCL through bank guarantee forfeiture, bar license, label registration and JSBCL.

Responsibility was given to four placement agencies

The responsibility of retailing liquor in the state was given to four placement agencies. These include Sumit Facilities, A to Z Infrastructure, Eagle Hunter Solution Limited and Prime One Company. Due to not being able to sell liquor as per the condition, the bank guarantee amount of Rs 44 crore has been confiscated. Apart from this, the responsibility of providing bulk liquor in the market was given to two companies. Bank guarantees worth Rs 36 crore of these two companies have also been confiscated.
