Seraikela/Sini: A case of suspicious death of a 21-year-old woman has come to light in Seraikela, Jharkhand. While the in-laws are calling it a suicide, the father of the deceased termed it as murder and lodged a written complaint with the police station. 21-year-old married woman Firoza Khatoon has died suspiciously in Kamalpur village under Seraikela police station. Kept meeting the demand of dowry, their demand kept increasing
The father of the deceased said that about two and a half years ago, his daughter Firoz Khatoon was married to Mo Saddam, son of Mukhtar Ahmed of the village. At the time of marriage, he had also given dowry according to his capacity. This includes bikes and household items, but the in-laws did not like the items received in dowry. They repeatedly harassed their daughter and asked to bring more things from their maternal home. Every time he used to shut his mouth by giving something or the other to his in-laws, but they kept persecuting the daughter.
In-laws killed their daughter by strangulation
If the father of the deceased is to be believed, then at 6:30 pm on Monday, Samadhi called and told that his daughter had hanged herself. Immediately after the information, when I went to the daughter’s in-laws house, I found the daughter lying dead on the ground. Mo Zahiriddeen alleged that there were nail marks on the daughter’s neck. The in-laws have strangled her to death by stuffing a cloth in her mouth.
