Jharkhand News: Jharkhand High Court heard the suo motu case registered in Ranchi Municipal Corporation and Ranchi Regional Development Authority (RRDA) regarding recovery of money for passing the map. The division bench of Justice S Chandrashekhar and Justice Anubha Rawat Chaudhary heard the side of the amicus curiae and the defendants during the hearing of the case. After this, the division bench orally said that laws are meant to help the common people. People should not be unnecessarily harassed in the name of law. People should get facilities. Dump garbage should be collected regularly. Officers should improve their working style. Also, whatever sanctioned posts are vacant in Municipal Corporations and municipal bodies, they should be filled soon.

The division bench said that to resolve the problems of the people, a complaint cell should be created in the corporation, which would promptly process the complaints received. The division bench accepted the state government’s request for time. The next hearing of the case will be on October 31.

Earlier, Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan, appearing for the state government, told the bench that action has been taken by the enforcement team of Ranchi Municipal Corporation in the matter of blackmailing shopkeepers in the name of trade license. 30 members of the enforcement team have been removed. Five assistant administrators have been authorized to issue online challans. Now the maps of buildings are being passed with the new Auto DCR software. The recruitment process has been started for vacant posts in Ranchi Municipal Corporation, RRDA and other municipal bodies. The process of appointment to 1688 posts is going on. Whereas, Advocate LCN Shahdev appeared on behalf of Ranchi Municipal Corporation, Advocate Prashant Kumar Singh and Amicus Curiae Advocate Inderjit Sinha appeared on behalf of RRDA.

The division bench also said that the result of the applicants will be affected by the final decision of this case. The division bench asked to fix the date for the next hearing of the case in the first week of December. Now the Commission will also examine the candidates and give the results.

Earlier, the division bench was told on behalf of the applicants that the Civil Judge Junior Division examination is being held after five years. The examination should have been conducted every year, but was not conducted. Due to this, their age has exceeded the age limit prescribed by JPSC and they are not able to apply. A request was made to give relaxation in age limit. At the same time, advocate Sanjay Piprawal and advocate Prince Kumar appeared on behalf of JPSC. It is noteworthy that separate petitions have been filed on behalf of applicant Abhishek Prasad and others.
