Ranchi, Rana Pratap: Jharkhand High Court has taken seriously the case of murder of gangster Aman Singh, lodged in Dhanbad jail, by shooting him on December 3. The division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen took cognizance of the news published in BollywoodWallah and converted it into a public interest litigation. Describing the incident as serious, the division bench wanted to know from the state government how the fire arms reached the high security jail? How was Aman Singh, who was in judicial custody, shot dead? What was the reason for the lapse in prison security? The division bench directed IG Prison to appear virtually during the next hearing of the case. The next hearing was fixed for December 5th.

Earlier, it was told by the state government that the incident is being investigated. Senior police officials have gone to the spot and are collecting all the information related to the shooting death of Aman Singh. IG Prison has also gone to the spot. After returning from there he will give a report regarding the incident. It is noteworthy that shooter Aman Singh, lodged in Dhanbad jail on charges of murder of former Deputy Mayor of Dhanbad, Neeraj Singh, was shot dead on December 3 at around 3 pm. He was shot seven times.
