Jharkhand High Court seeks answers from government and ACB in Rinpas irregularities case

Ranchi: The court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi of Jharkhand High Court heard the criminal writ petition filed regarding the irregularities in Rinpass. During the hearing of the case, the court heard the applicant’s side. After this, the court directed the state government and ACB to file their reply. The court asked what action has been taken in the case. Information should be given through affidavit. The court fixed December 21 for the next hearing of the case. Earlier, while presenting the case on behalf of the applicant, advocate Abhay Kumar Mishra told the court that there were many irregularities in Rinpass. Along with the financial irregularities, the appointment of the Executive Director of Rinpas is also wrong. The applicant applied to register an FIR in the ACB to investigate the entire matter, but neither the ACB nor the state government took any action. Advocate Shri Mishra urged the ACB to order FIR in the case. It is noteworthy that applicant Uttam Kumar has filed a criminal writ petition.

Authority has been formed to take action on complaints against police officers

Jharkhand High Court heard the PIL filed regarding reform in the Police Act. The division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen executed the petition after considering the reply of the state government during the hearing. Earlier, it was told by the state government that Jharkhand State Police Complaint Authority Rules-2017 have been made. Under the said rules, a complaint can be lodged against the police officers. Police complaint authority has been created at the state level and districts. People can register their complaints in this authority. A chairman, three other members and a member secretary are appointed in the authority. The authority will hear the complaint and pass an order. It is noteworthy that applicant Ziaul Haq had filed a public interest litigation. In the petition, a demand was made to comply with the order passed by the Supreme Court in the case of Prakash Singh vs Central Government in Jharkhand.
