Jharkhand: Former executive engineer of Pollution Control Board has assets worth Rs 37 lakh disproportionate to his income.

Ranchi: ACB has started investigating the entire property of Sudhir Kumar, who was posted as Executive Engineer (EE) in Pollution Control Board, Ranchi. ACB has registered a Preliminary Inquiry (PE) against Sudhir Kumar on charges of acquiring disproportionate assets. ACB had earlier registered an IR against Sudhir Kumar and started collecting information about his assets in a confidential manner. To calculate the assets, ACB officials fixed the check period from 2007 to 2013 and started calculating the income and expenditure.

During this time it was found that Sudhir Kumar has acquired 71 percent more wealth than his income while holding his post. This amount is about Rs 37 lakh more than the income received by him from various legitimate sources. But to openly investigate the entire property, ACB needed to register a PE in the case. Therefore, ACB had prepared a proposal in the case and sent it to the government and sought permission from the government to register a PE. Now ACB officials will send a notice to Sudhir Kumar and get detailed information about his property. It is noteworthy that even after retirement, Sudhir Kumar had worked on contract basis in the Pollution Control Board. But currently he has left the job.
