Therefore, a request has been made to extend the period of interim bail of the accused. ED opposes extension of interim bail period

ED opposed the extension of interim bail. On behalf of the ED, it was said that the accused are influential IAS officers of Jharkhand. During the investigation of the case, Rs 17.49 crore was seized from CA Suman Kumar’s house and Rs 29.70 lakh from his office. Suman has said in her statement that a major part of the seized amount belongs to Pooja Singhal. Some hand written slips have been found from CA Suman’s office. It mentions date and money. Suman Kumar has described it as the calculation done for the amount of commission. It was said by ED that Suman Kumar is becoming an approver. But, he is being intimidated and influenced. The accused is an influential IAS officer. That’s why they should not be given bail. After hearing all the parties, instead of extending the period of interim bail, the court has fixed the date of April 13 for hearing on regular bail.

ED investigates stone quarry and crusher in Karamtola, Sahibganj

A four-member team of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Ranchi, for the second consecutive day on Thursday conducted an investigation at Alok Ranjan’s Jai Bajrang Stone Workers’ quarry near Karamtola, Sahibganj’s Raksi place. During this, the team of ED got the CO and Amin of the zone measured through tape and drone from Karamtola railway line to the operated crusher machine and stone quarry and examined the border area. It is said that the ED team is engaged in collecting reports related to illegal mining. Earlier the ED team which was investigating went traceless. After about an hour, the ED team met Alok Ranjan near the mine. During the investigation, Syed Arshad Nasar, a social worker who had filed a petition in the Principal Bench of NGT, New Delhi, to save Rajmahal mountain, was taken into custody by the Central Security Force on the instructions of the ED officials. Arshad’s mobile and files were also confiscated. However, later the mobile and files were returned to Arshad and he was released.
