Jharkhand: Devotees take a dip of faith on Kartik Purnima, worship in temples, this is the belief

Ranchi/Chatra/West Singhbhum/Seraikela(Rajesh, Vijay, Anil, Shachinद्र): Kartik Purnima On the occasion of this, devotees took a dip of faith in Ranchi, Chatra, West Singhbhum and Seraikela Kharsawan and other areas of Jharkhand on Monday. Crowd of devotees started gathering at Maa Bhadrakali temple in Itkhori, Chatra from 3 o’clock in the morning. At Namkum in Ranchi, devotees took a dip in the Swarnarekha Rekha river and worshiped Lord Mahadev. In Karaikela village of West Singhbhum, there is a unique tradition of placing betel nuts and betel nuts on a boat made of banana and floating it in water on Kartik Purnima. It is believed that in Kartik the water of every river becomes like Ganga. The reward of bathing throughout the year is achieved only by bathing on Kartik. A dip in Kartik gives results similar to bathing in Kumbh. Brahma himself had told Narad that the good deeds done in Kartik remain eternal.

On the occasion of Kartik Purnima, there was a crowd of devotees in Maa Bhadrakali temple on Monday. Devotees started reaching Mata’s temple from three o’clock in the morning. The flow of people coming and going in the temple continued till late evening. More than thirty thousand devotees had darshan of Mother Bhadrakali. There was a long queue outside the temple for darshan. Following the ancient tradition, more than ten thousand devotees took bath in the Uttar Vahini Mohane river. Let us tell you that due to unexpected crowd in the temple, law and order problem had arisen. There was even no arrangement for security of women devotees. The entire law and order situation of the temple complex was left to the trust of only two male home guards. Due to this, women devotees had to face a lot of trouble while entering the sanctum sanctorum.

On the occasion of Kartik Purnima, hundreds of devotees took a dip of faith in the Swarnarekha river in Namkum, Ranchi. After taking bath in the river, the devotees listened to the story of Lord Satyanarayan on the banks. After this, worshiped at Akiso Mahadev Temple. On the occasion of Kartik Purnima, a fair was also organized at Ikkiso Mahadev Temple. Food items, makeup items and entertainment items were available in it. The special thing is that for years there is a tradition of organizing Daridra Narayan Bhoj near the temple on Kartik Purnima. This feast is organized by Daridra Narayan Bhoj Committee. Although devotees like to take bath in the river on the day of Kartik Purnima, but due to the contamination of the water of Swarnarekha river, most of the devotees reached the temple after taking bath from home. Devotees complained that due to pollution the color of the river water has turned black and the water smells bad.

On the occasion of Kartik Purnima in Bandgaon on Monday, a crowd of devotees was seen at Jagarnath temple in Karaikela area for worship. Devotees started taking a dip of faith in Karaikela Binjay river since early morning. Devotees offered prayers at Jagarnath temple and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the family. According to tradition, women of Oriya community floated boats in the river. This special boat is made of banana tree on which betel leaves, betel nuts, money, incense sticks and lamps are placed and water is traditionally floated in the river. Before that, Tulsi is worshiped on the river ghats. After which the boat is floated in the water taking the names of the members of the house.

Many religious rituals were organized in Seraikela Kharsawan on the auspicious time of Kartik Purnima. The doors of the temples were opened early in the morning. Hundreds of people took a dip of faith in Purva river and pond from 3 o’clock in the morning. Took holy bath and offered prayers in temples. The gathering of devotees started appearing in Shri Krishna Temple, Jagannath Temple, Hari Temple and Shiva Temple in the morning itself. Devotees continued to reach the Jagannath temple of Haribhanja throughout the day. Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra were specially decorated on the occasion. Apart from this, Katha of Satyanarayan Vrat was also organized in many places on Monday.
