Jharkhand: Action on 24 foreign liquor shops, many workers removed, were charging more than MRP

Ranchi: On the instructions of Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha and Assistant Commissioner (Excise), action was taken on complaints related to sale of retail products (liquor) at prices higher than MRP in shops. Ranchi Immediate action was taken against the sellers of retail product shops in order to get the investigation done by the concerned Zonal Under Inspector Excise / Regional Inspector Excise on the complaints of selling liquor at a price higher than MRP against the sellers working in the retail product shops of the district. . Let us tell you that test purchases are also being conducted continuously to ensure the sale of liquor at MRP at some retail product shops. Taking action against the vendors found guilty, they have been removed from that shop. A recommendation has been made to the General Manager, Operations, Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited, Ranchi, to expel vendors working in a total of 24 foreign liquor shops from the shop after receiving complaints of selling liquor at a price higher than the MRP. Instructions have been given to take continuous action against those selling (liquor) at prices higher than MRP in retail product shops.

Deputation of other workers in shops

It is mentioned in Rule 24 (2) of the Jharkhand Product (Operation of Retail Product Shops through Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited) Rules 2022 that if the work of the shop supervisor, shop in-charge, shop assistant and security guard is not satisfactory, the Assistant Commissioner of the district Product/Superintendent Product will send recommendations to Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited for action against such personnel. On the basis of the recommendation received from the Assistant Commissioner of Excise/Superintendent of Excise of the district, Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited will take cognizance and ensure administrative action. Under this, the vendors working in the shops found guilty have been removed and other employees have been deputed in the respective shops.

Name of the employee expelled from the shop – Neeraj Kumar, Chandan Kumar, Manoj Kumar Ranjan, Sudhir Kumar.

3. Foreign Liquor Shop, Dhurva Bus Stand, License No.-021_FLX_RNC_22-23

Name of the employee expelled from the shop – Sagar Prasad Chaurasia, Nitish Pal, Ravi Kumar.

4. Foreign Liquor Shop, Ormanjhi, License Number- 073_FLX_RNC_22-23

Name of the worker expelled from the shop – Kapil Dev.

5. Composite Shop, Barve, License Number-01_COM_RNC_22-23, Name of employee expelled from the shop- Camp Kumar Mahato.

Action against sellers working in 24 foreign liquor shops

A recommendation has been made to the General Manager, Operations, Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited, Ranchi, to expel vendors working in a total of 24 foreign liquor shops from the shops after receiving complaints of selling liquor at a price higher than the MRP. Instructions have been given to take continuous action against those selling (liquor) at prices higher than MRP in retail product shops. Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha while instructing the concerned officer said that continuous action should be taken against those selling (liquor) at a price higher than MRP in retail product shops.
