Jharkhand: A deaf and mute boy from Punjab came to Dumka after wandering in the farmer’s movement, now returning home

Jharkhand News: A 10-year-old boy from Moga district of Punjab, who had wandered from Delhi to Dumka during the farmer’s movement, has been sent back to his home with the efforts of the Child Welfare Committee. Ever since that teenager reached here after wandering, since then his family had no information about father-son. After being separated from his father, this child somehow reached Dumka. Being deaf and dumb, it was difficult to find information about the child’s home and family, but the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) finally traced the child’s family.

assigned to escort team

On Thursday, Deputy Development Commissioner Abhijit Sinha handed over this boy to the escort team after giving him a gift to take him home to Punjab. Committee Chairperson Amarendra Kumar, members Ranjan Kumar Sinha, Dr. Raj Kumar Upadhyay and Kumari Vijay Laxmi and District Child Protection Officer Prakash Chandra were also present on this occasion.

The boy was found near the private bus stand

CWC Chairperson Amarendra Kumar told that a year ago, social worker Dashrath Mahto found this 10-year-old boy near Kalika Hotel in a private bus stand. Child Line team member Nikku Kumar presented this child before the Child Welfare Committee. Due to the child being deaf and dumb, neither his statement could be taken nor could he tell anything about himself in any way. Declaring the boy as CNCP, the committee had lodged him in the children’s home. In order to search for the boy’s family members, the committee also released his photo in the newspapers on the same day and ordered to upload the details including his photo on the Missing and Found portal, but nothing could be found about him.

aadhaar card information

The services of an expert were also taken to get information about the child, but this effort was also unsuccessful. Finally, on the orders of the committee, an application was given to make the child’s Aadhaar card. The application was rejected as his Aadhaar card was already made and his Aadhaar details were received. Based on the address of the child found in the Aadhaar card, SIR was sought from the DCPO of Moga, Punjab. The DCPO there told in the SIR that the boy’s maternal grandmother met at the given address. Grandmother told that the child is deaf and dumb. His mother has died. Father took him to Delhi in the farmer’s movement. Since then nothing was being known about both of them.

DDC praised the child welfare committee

When the grandmother got information about the child, she pleaded to get the grandson back safely. The committee had issued an escort order on July 20 itself, ordering the child to be taken to his home, but this order could not be complied with. Deputy Development Commissioner Abhijit Sinha approved the amount to take this child to his home. On August 23, modifying the escort order, the committee issued an order to the in-charge of the children’s home Sanju Kumar and PO Dinesh Paswan to hand over the child to the Child Welfare Committee of Moga. On Thursday, both of them left for Dhanbad with the child from where they will reach Moga in Punjab by train. DDC Abhijit Sinha has praised the continuous efforts and success of the Child Welfare Committee in restoring this deaf and mute boy of Punjab to his family.
