Jharkhand: 9.40 lakh future youth voters will vote in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, this is the preparation of the Election Department

Ranchi: With the special efforts of Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar Jharkhand A unique initiative has been taken to connect young voters. In the schools of Jharkhand, students studying in class 11th and 12th, whose age is between 17 years and 18 years, are being identified as prospective voters and are being made to fill advance prefilled Form-6. From such data extracted with the help of e-Vidya Vahini portal, 9.4 lakh prospective voters have been identified and their district wise data has been sent to the district election officials. If this model is successful then lakhs of new voters will exercise their franchise in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Let us tell you that currently this campaign is being run only for the students affiliated with Jharkhand Academic Council. Soon, students of other educational boards including CBSE and ICSE are also to be included in this campaign. Special Duty Officer Geeta Choubey and Deputy Election Officer Headquarters Sanjay Kumar were present in this virtual meeting.

To give concrete shape to this initiative, the Chief Electoral Officer along with the District Education Officers and Deputy Election Officers, ERO, AERO, Block Education Extension Officers of all the districts, to establish better coordination between the Education Department and the district level officers of the Election Department. Had a virtual meeting. In the meeting, he directed all the officials to establish better coordination and run an intensive campaign for the next three days and complete all the formalities for submitting the advance forms of the prospective voters of the state. Two categories of students have been included in this campaign. One is those who are completing 18 years of age on January 1, 2024, while the other is those who are completing 18 years of age on or before October 1, 2024. He has appealed to all the officials to do their best in this campaign so that with the help of these young voters, a positive environment of awareness is created among other voters of the state and no voter is left out.
