Ranchi: In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, out of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state, Dhanbad parliamentary constituency has the highest number of voters. There more than 22.45 lakh voters will exercise their franchise to elect MPs. According to the voter list published by the Election Commission, the lowest number of voters in the state is in Khunti parliamentary constituency. There 13.10 lakh voters will cast their votes in the Lok Sabha elections. Apart from this, 14.28 lakh voters in Singhbhum and 14.21 lakh voters in Lohardaga will cast their votes in the MP elections. The number of voters in all the remaining parliamentary constituencies is more than 15 lakh.
Total number of voters is 2,53,86,152
According to the voter list published by the Commission, the total number of voters in Jharkhand is 2,53,86,152. Out of these, 1,29,37,458 are male and 1,24,48,225 are female voters. The number of third gender voters is 469. 21,67,270 young voters aged between 18 to 22 years included in the voter list will exercise their franchise for the first time in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In this, 10,64,282 voters are youth and 11,02,903 are girls. Apart from these, 85 third gender voters will also cast their vote for the first time.
Names are still being added to the voter list
The work of adding new names and making corrections in the voter list is still going on. This will continue till the notification of Lok Sabha elections is issued.
