Naxalites had planted an IED to blow up the police during the operation in the forest of Goilkera and Sarjomburu area of ​​Chaibasa district. The villagers have revealed the names of 12 Naxalites, including three top Naxalites, involved in planting the IED during interrogation by the police. The police has also prepared a report regarding this. The three top Naxalites include Politburo member Misir Besra, Central Committee member Aseem Mandal and Anal. Apart from this, the names of other Naxalites include Chaman, Ajay, Mochu, Sagen Angriya, Sushant, Upton, Ashwin, Rajesh Devgam and Jaipal Devgam.

Villagers revealed during police investigation

Police have written in their report that Naxalite Rajesh Devgam and Jaipal Devgam were taken on remand for questioning on April 1 for their involvement in a Naxalite incident registered in Tonto police station area in the year 2023. He told during interrogation that explosives had been planted to damage the police in Goilkera and Sarjomburu areas. Based on this, a campaign outline was prepared and a campaign was launched in the area on April 4. During the operation, hand grenades, rifles, bullets and other items including IEDs were found. A campaign was also conducted in the surrounding areas, but no Naxalite was found. When the villagers were interrogated, on the condition of not becoming witnesses in the case, they told that apart from the above Naxalites, 10-15 armed Naxalites were roaming in the area. They come to the forest and plant IEDs on the way to harm the police and go back.
