Jhansi: Fierce fire in electronic showroom, army took over the front, four including women died, loss of crores

Jhansi: A massive fire broke out in a showroom of electronic equipment in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. It also engulfed the adjacent showroom and other shops. As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade team got involved in extinguishing the fire. In view of the fierce fire, fire engines were called from the surrounding districts and the help of the army was also taken.

After hard work, the fire could be controlled late on Monday night. In this incident, four people including a woman were killed and six people were scorched. There is talk of loss of crores due to the fire.

Nitesh and Ritesh Agarwal, residents of Mission Compound in Jhansi, have a showroom of electronic equipment in the name of VR Traders near Rama Book Depot intersection in Sipri Bazar. A fire broke out on the first floor of the showroom on Monday evening.

Within no time the fire took a huge form and all the electronic equipment including AC, TV, fridge and mobile started burning. Before people could understand anything, the fierce fire engulfed another showroom Value Plus of electronic equipment in the neighborhood. Due to this, all the goods kept in the showroom got burnt.

The fire reached the office of the United Insurance Company located on the third floor. Here Ragni Rajput, resident of Assistant Manager KK Puri, burnt to death. The flames also engulfed the live sports shop next door. A closed coaching center located on the second floor also caught fire. Fire brigade vehicles were also called from Jhansi, Lalitpur and Jalaun districts to control the fire. Apart from this, the army was also called. The army somehow took out three people safely.

The office of United India Insurance Company was earlier located in Nandanpura. A month back the office was shifted to the top floor of VR Traders located in Sipri Bazar. According to eyewitnesses, office colleagues tried to pull out Ragini Rajput, assistant manager of the insurance company, when the fire broke out. He grabbed the woman and brought her out of the room. But, seeing the rising flames, the female officer returned in panic. In the midst of all this, he died due to the fire.

Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh S said that Ragini Rajput, who was posted in the office of the insurance company, was burnt to death. So far, a total of four deaths have been confirmed. It is believed that the fire started due to short circuit.

As soon as the information about the fire was received, a vehicle reached from Sipri Bazar Fire Station inside Jhansi. But, in no time the fire took a gigantic form. After this, the fire brigade team was called from the surrounding districts. Along with this, the help of the army was also taken. After a lot of effort, the fire could be controlled late in the night.

It is being told that more than 100 two-wheelers parked outside the showroom and in the basement were also burnt due to the fire. An estimated loss of Rs 35 to 40 crores is being caused by the fire. District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar told that this is a sad incident. Instructions have been given to the investigating officer to investigate the cause of the fire.
