JEE Main Answer Key: NTA changed the pattern of mixing answer key and recorded response

  • A large number of students-parents are worried

  • Recorded response removed from website citing technical error

The answer key, recorded responses and question papers of JEE-Main Session-1 were released by the National Testing Agency on Tuesday night. With the release of notification by NTA, the problems of students and parents also started. The problems continued till Wednesday, due to which NTA removed the options of recorded response, answer key and question paper. Time has been given till 11 pm on 8th February to challenge the provisional answer key. NTA score of this session is proposed to be released on 12th February. NTA has released the recorded responses of all the 11 shifts of BE-B.Tech and B.Arch held between January 24 and February 1.

Amit Ahuja, career counseling expert of Allen Career Institute, said that students faced a big problem in matching the issued question paper, answer key and recorded response. This time NTA has changed the pattern of matching answer key and recorded response. Just changed it. No explanation was given on the website in this regard. In such a situation, the confusion among the students regarding the released answer key increased further. This year, the provisional answer key released by NTA was not shown in the option ID, whereas in the recorded response, the answers of the students were shown in the option ID.

In the Provisional Answer Key, multiple correct questions are shown in the order of 1, 2, 3, 4, whereas in the Recorded Response, the answers are shown in the Option ID, matching the last two digits of the Option ID, in the order of 1, 2, 3. , can be done by stacking in order of 4, but there is no explanation about this. In such a situation, lakhs of students and parents are not able to match the answers to their questions correctly and due to this, they have become doubtful about the authenticity of NTA’s answer key and their own recorded responses.

Whereas in the previous years, the answers of the recorded responses of the students and the answers in the provisional answer key were shown in the form of option ID, due to which the students could estimate their marks by clearly matching their answers with the answer key issued by NTA. Whereas this year neither the students are able to check their answers nor are able to trust the answer key of NTA.

Ahuja told that students were also troubled by many other problems. In this, thousands of students born in the year 2007 were not able to download their recorded responses, because the option was given only till the year 2006 on the NTA website. Also, the question papers of the examination held in the shift of 27 January were also not uploaded. Initially the NTA server was so busy that students could not get any information on the website.

In view of all these problems, finally NTA removed the option to download the answer key from the website from Wednesday morning itself. Accepted this as a technical problem and asked to release the recorded response again. In such a situation, how will the students be able to download and challenge the answer key within the given time till 8th February? In such a situation, NTA should extend the time till 8th February.
