Till now, caste certificates have not been provided to 100% school children of Jamtara district. Due to this, children are not able to avail the benefits of various schemes. There are also such children in the district whose parents do not even have land titles. Khatian’s compulsion to make caste certificate for children is also one of the reasons due to which children are facing difficulties in getting caste certificate made. Due to unavailability of Khatian, parents have to make rounds of the office. It is noteworthy that the state government has directed that it is mandatory to prepare caste certificate for the children studying in schools. Documents of children are being collected in BRC of all the blocks. The process of sending zones is being done every day through BRC. One lakh three thousand children are studying in 1030 schools in six blocks of the district, but till now the documents for caste certificate of only 74348 children have been submitted in the zonal office. According to these submitted documents, till now caste certificates have been issued to 55448 thousand children. 17363 Form found error due to various reasons. 2362 applications are pending in the CO office. Thus, till now the caste certificate of a total of 47582 children has not been made.
Children are being deprived of schemes
Due to children not getting caste certificates, they are deprived of taking benefits of the schemes. The intention of the Jharkhand government is that if the caste certificate is available to all the children through the school itself, then the children can also take the benefits of the government schemes. Due to lack of caste certificate, children are being deprived of schemes like scholarship, bicycle etc. To get caste certificate made for school children, Khatian, form, birth certificate, Aadhar card, Aadhar card of parents etc. are required.
