Jamshedpur: Malaria patients increased, most of the victims coming from Musabani, Dumariya and Patmada areas.

Jamshedpur: The Health Department has identified Dumariya, Ghatshila, Musabani, Patmada, Chakulia as red zones of malaria. The number of malaria patients has increased in recent times. Malaria patients are reaching MGM hospital every day. Two to three people are being admitted and treated every week. These include children as well as elders. Pediatrician of MGM, Dr. SL Murmu said that most of the patients are coming from Musabani, Dumariya and Patmada. He said that the people who go to the fields to harvest paddy are mostly falling prey to malaria due to mosquito bites. At the same time, many people do not get mosquito nets or even if they get them, they do not install them. Due to this also they are falling prey to malaria. Civil Surgeon Dr. Jujhar Manjhi said that a continuous investigation campaign is conducted in the district regarding malaria. Sahiya, MPW and other employees are employed in this.

In the year 2023, 1,22,389 people were examined in the district, 824 patients were found.

Last year, the Health Department had launched a malaria testing campaign in the entire district. In this, 1,22,389 people were examined, in which 824 malaria patients were found.
