Jamshedpur: High Court reprimanded in the case of commercial use of parking space and map deviation.

jamshedpur : The bench of Justice R Mukhopadhyay and Justice Deepak Roshan of Jharkhand High Court heard the PIL (2078/2018) of Sakchi Ambagan resident Rakesh Jha on Wednesday. During the hearing, the court strongly reacted and reprimanded the builders by deviating the map and not taking any action despite converting the parking space into commercial shops. Petitioner’s advocates Akhilesh Srivastava and Rohit Sinha told the court. That in 2011, Axis had identified and sealed 46 illegal buildings in the city. Sealing itself means demolition of illegal constructions.

Here, the High Court had passed its final order in WP (PIL 1076/2011) and asked the state to take action against those who deviated from the map, yet many builders carried out illegal construction indiscriminately. Due to this, about 1246 buildings have been illegally constructed in Jamshedpur city. Commercial shops opened in place of parking in many buildings. There were vehicles parked on the roads. On this, after looking at the interim investigation report of the appointed investigation committee, the court reprimanded it and asked the investigation committee to stay in Jamshedpur continuously and file its final report. The court has fixed April 9, 2024 for the next hearing of the case.
