Jamshedpur: Crores of rupees were taken from the bank by depositing fake gold, this is how the case was revealed

Jamshedpur, Shyam Jha : The case of taking a loan of about one crore rupees by depositing more than 100 packets of fake gold in Lakshmi Vilas Bank located at Sakchi Penar Road has come to light. All the accused are absconding after taking the loan. The matter came to light when the borrowers did not redeem the gold. The then bank manager of the bank, Praveen Rajhans lodged an FIR against the accused in the Sakchi police station, after which the matter came to light in the investigation ordered by the court. Since then, the police is looking for the accused. Actually, after depositing gold in Lakshmi Vilas Bank, he was given a loan of Rs. But he was not released after depositing the gold loan. The involvement of the then bank manager in the case is also being probed. The police is also looking for Sakchi resident Dharmendra Verma, a bullion trader who examines jewellery.

FIR lodged on 20 November 2019 Praveen Rajhans, the then manager of the bank, filed a complaint against Santosh Kumar Chowdhary, his wife Poonam Chowdhary, Malti Verma, Dilip Verma, Tomar Satendra Singh, Dhiraj Verma, Dharmendra Verma, Dharmendra Singh’s wife Mantu Devi and Rakesh Roshan Sharma at Sakchi police station. The FIR of forgery was lodged on 20 November 2019. Sakchi resident Dharmendra Verma used to check the jewelery deposited in the bank. Gold loan was given by the bank only after their evaluation.

Investigation after approval from court

The police of Sakchi police station got more than 100 packets of gold jewelery deposited in the bank examined after approval from the Jamshedpur civil court. According to the police, most of the jewelery has been found to be fake in the investigation. A loan of about one crore rupees has been taken from the bank for these jewellery.
