Jamshedpur: Businessmen engrossed in the devotion of Ram, celebrated Diwali in the markets.

Jamshedpur: There was tremendous enthusiasm in Iron City on Monday regarding the consecration of Ram Lalla’s life in the temple located in Ayodhya. The business class also remained engrossed in devotion to Ram. Saffron flags were waving everywhere in the market. Attractive electrical decorations were made at many places. Every small and big businessman in the market performed puja and aarti on this day. Lighted lamps at collective and individual level. Various types of sweets including kheer, puri, halwa and laddus were distributed among the people. At some places bhajan-kirtan and at some places Sunderkand recitation was organised.

Many shops were closed in the afternoon

There were no shops on the footpath near Sakchi Bata Chowk on Monday. After noon, most of the shopkeepers of Sakchi, Bistupur, Baridih and Mango closed their shops.

Customers not seen in the market

Traditional customers were not seen in the market on Monday. Silence started spreading after 10 o’clock. All the customers who were visible had come out to buy puja items, flags and lamps.

Shiv Mandir Line: 5100 lamps were lit under the leadership of Shiv Mandir Committee Chairman Naresh Aggarwal and Giridhari. 51 kg laddus were distributed. Halwa-puri were distributed among the people.

Sakchi Flour Line- Shopkeepers like Vivek Aggarwal, Akhilesh, Mukesh etc. performed puja, lit 1101 lamps and distributed puri, vegetables and laddus.

Fish Market- Under the leadership of Maharana Pratap Singh and Rahul, Sunderkand was recited and food was distributed.

Rice Patti – Under the leadership of committee chairman Baldev, Sunderkand was recited near Hanuman temple and 101 lamps were lit in the evening.

Mashala Patti Bangle Line- Sunderkand was recited under the leadership of Suresh Prasad Srivastava and Raju Gupta. Vegetables, puri and kheer were distributed. 1008 lamps were lit.

Sanjay Market- 1100 lamps were lit. After distribution of bhog, the businessmen took out a grand procession.

iron bar- Under the leadership of Raju Bhai, 101 lamps were lit and laddus were distributed.

Dalda Line- Under the leadership of Retail Merchant Welfare Association President Somnath Tiwari, Pran Pratishtha was telecast live on the LED screen at the main intersection. Lamps were lit. Bhog was distributed among the people.

cloth strip- Under the leadership of Raju Singh, attractive lighting was done from Aggarwal Book Stall to Jhanda Chowk, laddus were distributed among the people after worshiping.

Bata Chowk- Local shopkeepers performed puja by putting up Ram Darbar’s flax. Puri and vegetables were distributed among the people.

cotton line- Worship was performed by Balaji Bhakta Mandal and local shopkeepers. After this, the businessmen enjoyed the devotional songs of Mohan Deewana, Manjulika Patnaik, Soumitra Banerjee, Sairam Reddy and Chanchal in the Bhajan Evening programme.

Tinkonia Chowk- Lighting, distribution of Imarti and laddus

Bistupur Market: Worship and distribution of food was done under the leadership of Twinkle Bhatia, Nagendra Prasad in Bistupur Lohapatti and Ganga Gupta in the vegetable market. Businessmen distributed Khichdi Bhog and Puri vegetable in Diagonal Road.

Baridih Market: Worship was done under the leadership of Pappu Bhai in Pakka Market and under the leadership of Kameshwar Singh in Teenshed. Even in the shifted market area, traders performed puja and distributed laddus.
