Jammu-Kashmir Landslide: A truck fell into a deep gorge after being hit by a landslide on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the early hours of Tuesday, due to which four people in it died. Police gave this information. Police said that vehicular movement has been stopped after a landslide on the highway near Sher Bibi in Ramban district around 5 am.
A police officer said that the truck was going from Jammu to Srinagar. Officials said that local people and police immediately started the rescue operation and pulled out all the four bodies trapped in the truck.
Officials have identified the deceased as truck driver Mohammad Afzal Garu (42) of Kulgam, his brother Altaf Garu (36), Irfan Ahmed (33) of Anantnag and his brother Shaukat Ahmed (29). He said that around six cattle being transported in the truck for domestic use also died in the accident.

Officials said that traffic on the national highway has also been blocked due to the landslide. On the other hand, Jammu Srinagar National Highway has also been closed due to landslide in Kishtwari Pather Banihal. Traffic has been stopped from both sides. People have been advised to travel on NH-44 only after knowing the routes.
