Jammu and Kashmir: NIA attaches property of Hizbul chief Syed Salahuddin’s son

New Delhi : In a major crackdown against terrorism, the National Investigation Agency (ANI) on Monday attached two properties of dreaded terrorist and sons of Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin. According to media reports, the NIA on Monday attached the immovable properties of Syed Salahuddin’s son Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel in Jammu and Kashmir. His properties are situated at Mohalla Ram Bagh of Budgam Soibugh tehsil of Budgam and Nursing Garh district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Salahuddin’s two sons are locked in Tihar

A statement issued by the NIA said that the immovable properties of Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel, both sons of Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin, have been attached under section 33 (1) of the UA(P) Act. According to media reports, both the sons of notorious terrorist Syed Salahuddin were arrested in October 2017 and August 2018 respectively and both of them are currently lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. There is an allegation against both of them of receiving money from abroad (terror funding) from Syed Salahuddin’s associates and active workers of Hizbul Mujahideen. A charge sheet was filed in this case.

Salahuddin fled to Pakistan in 1993

According to media reports, Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin fled to Pakistan in the year 1993. After this, in October 2020, he was declared a terrorist by the Central Government. At present, he is engaged in carrying out anti-India activities while sitting in Pakistan. Media reports say that in Pakistan he has formed a terrorist organization called United Jihad Council (UJC), also known as Muttahida Jihad Council (MJC).

Delhi Police had registered a case in 2011

Media reports said that in November 2011, the Central Investigation Agency had started an investigation into the criminal conspiracy in the matter of funding and carrying out terrorist activities to terrorist groups and their associates in Jammu and Kashmir. As per reports, the Special Cell of Delhi Police had registered a case in January 2011, which was later taken over by the NIA. Eight charge sheets and supplementary charge sheets were filed in this case from 2011 to 2018.
