Jam on the main road of Ranchi due to footpath shopkeepers, Municipal Corporation is not taking concrete steps

The main road of the capital is facing traffic jams throughout the day due to roadside decorations and illegal parking. Due to this, the people traveling through the road remain troubled. The district administration or the Municipal Corporation is not taking any concrete steps to make the main road in such a bad condition that it is encroachment free. In such a situation, vehicles pass by crawling everyday.

Bad condition of Albert Ekka to Daily Market Chowk:

From Albert Ekka Chowk to Daily Market, shops are lined up along one side. In this, from Sarjana Chowk to the side of Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, there is an influx of vendors selling clothes on handcarts. On the other side of the temple, sellers of spectacles, watches, belts and purses are occupied outside the vehicle parking. Every evening half of this road gets decorated with shops.

There is jam from Khatiya Bazar, shopkeepers dispute on removal:

Due to Khatiya Bazaar (cloth market) in front of the Daily Market, there is always a traffic jam. When the corporation’s team or the police arrive to remove it, the shopkeepers create a dispute. Due to which the corporation also does not remove the encroachment there.

However, Traffic SP Haris Bin Zaman had given a clear order that if any shopkeeper set up shop beyond the white line, he would be fined or his clothes etc. would be confiscated. Describing that order as dhatta, the shopkeepers spread their shops up to half the road. There is a crowd of shoppers most of the time.

Daily turnover of lakhs, but there is no place to park even four vehicles:

From Albert Ekka Chowk to Akra Masjid Chowk, there are dozens of such establishments, whose daily business is worth lakhs. But leave the place to park four wheelers in these, then there is no place to park two wheelers. As a result, all the people who come here park their vehicles on the road and shop. That’s why there is always jam here. The worst affected are the pedestrians. Sometimes, due to jam, such a situation arises that there is no place even to walk.

Took shop in vendor market, still selling on the street

Shops are being set up indiscriminately on the road from Kachari to Sarjana Chowk, where the corporation had made it a no-vending zone. The corporation has also allotted shops in the vendor market to 400 footpath shopkeepers of this road. But he himself has put his shop on rent and has come on the footpath. In such a situation, the problem of jam remains.
