Israel Hamas War: Know what Joe Biden appealed to Egypt and Qatar

Israel Hamas War: US President Joe Biden on Friday wrote a letter to the leaders of Egypt and Qatar asking them to put pressure on Hamas to reach a compromise regarding the Israeli hostages. A senior official of the Biden administration gave this information. A day before this, Biden had asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to double his efforts to stop the six-month-long war in Gaza.

A Biden administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the President’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will meet the family members of some hostages on Monday. It is believed that 100 people are still in the custody of Hamas. Biden has deployed CIA Director Bill Burns to Cairo for talks this weekend about the hostages and has since written letters to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

Temporary ceasefire is the only way

White House officials said that a temporary ceasefire is the only way to release the hostages and provide humanitarian aid. The official said Biden made it clear in his conversation with Netanyahu that every effort should be made to ensure the release of hostages, including American citizens. The US President also discussed the importance of giving full authority to Israeli negotiators for any agreement.
