IPL News: Leaving TV, people started watching IPL on mobile, giving testimony of this fact

IPL 2023 News: Digital streaming by Jio-Cinema on mobiles and connected TVs is reaching three times more IPL viewers than Star Sports on TV. According to the SCORE report, digital streaming is attracting 73 per cent of IPL viewers. Whereas cable and DTH have only 27 percent viewers left. This has been revealed in Synchrony India and Unomer’s report ‘Score’ to measure the impact of advertisements in IPL.

It has also been revealed in the ‘Score’ report that the number of viewers watching IPL streamed on Smart TV is much more than that of cable or DTH. IPL was watched by 62% viewers on Connected TV and only 38% on Cable/DTH. The report claimed that the total number of viewers on TV is also continuously falling.

There have also been interesting changes in the IPL viewing pattern of the audience. According to the report, 52% people like to watch IPL on both TV and mobile. There are 30% viewers who watch IPL only on mobile and only 18% are still glued to TV. If you look at the figures, it is clear that one-third of the viewers are directly connected to Jio-Cinema. While more than 50 percent of the viewers are using both mobile and TV.

This report has been prepared on the basis of samples taken in the first two weeks of IPL. Samples have been collected from Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ludhiana and Jaipur.
