Ookla ranks mobile and fixed broadband speeds around the world on a monthly basis. According to its latest report, India’s average mobile speed has improved three places globally in the month of May. However, in the average speed of fixed broadband, India has slipped one place to 84th position in May. At the same time, India’s performance in fixed average download speed increased to 52.53 Mbps in May as compared to 51.12 Mbps in April.
What do the latest rankings say?
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to lead in terms of mobile speeds, while Mauritius has jumped 11 places in the May rankings of the Ookla Speedtest Global Index. According to a PTI-language report, Singapore has remained the best in fixed broadband download speed in May, while Bahrain has jumped 17 places.
