international master of jamshedpur Athlete Shanti Mukta Barla (54 years) died in a road accident on Monday. She was originally a resident of Gumla. On Monday morning she was going to her home in Gumla on scooty. Near Jojodih village of Tamar police station area, a speeding Scorpio hit the scooter hard, due to which Shanti died on the spot. The collision was so strong that the scooter was blown to pieces. Tamad Police road accident On receiving the information, the body was seized from the spot and sent for post-mortem. A girl named Sudha was also riding on the scooter along with Shanti, but is said to be safe. Shanti was also a sports teacher in Mahila University. She lived on rent in W Type of Adityapur. She is survived by her husband and a daughter.
Had won more than 60 medals
Shanti had won more than 60 medals in national and international master athletics championships in the last 10 years. Won gold medal in 100 meter race in the State Level Master Athletics Championship held at JRD on January 7, 2024.
