International Emmy Awards 2023 Complete Winners List: The 51st International Emmy Awards took place in New York and The Empress won the biggest award of that night. It won the award for Best Drama Series. Meanwhile, Carla Souza took home the Best Actress trophy for her performance in La Cada (The Dive), while Martin Freeman won Best Actor for his role in The Responder. Let us tell you that Shefali Shah and Jim Sarbh were also nominated in the Best Actress and Best Actor categories respectively. Desi representation was very strong at the International Emmys this year. Film and television producer Ekta Kapoor was honored with the Directorate Award, while Vir Das won big in the comedy category for his Netflix special Veer Das: Landing.

Veer Das also won Emmy Award

Vir Das won the International Emmy for Comedy at a ceremony in New York this morning. This was his first victory. The comedian won the Best Comedy Series award for his Netflix stand-up special Veer Das: Landing. She shared the award with season 3 of the UK show Derry Girls. Vir Das was earlier nominated in the same category in 2021 for his stand-up special named For India.

Who is Veer Das

Vir Das is a comedian, actor and musician who has acted in 35 plays, over 100 stand-up shows, 18 films, eight TV shows and six comedy specials. He is best known among cinephiles for his work in films such as Delhi Belly, for which he received a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor nomination, and Go Goa Gone. His film credits also include Namaste London, Love Aaj Kal and Shivaay. Veer Das has appeared in TV shows The Curse of King Tut’s Tomb, Mumbai Calling, Whiskey Cavalier and Fresh Off the Boat. His comedy shows for Netflix include Hasmukh, Abroad Understanding, Losing It, Vir Das: Inside Out and Vir Das: Outside In.
