Inspector suspended for selling Waqf land to Mukhtar Ansari’s wife in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board Chairman Ali Zaidi has suspended a Waqf Inspector on charges of illegal sale of eight bigha Waqf property in Lucknow to Afsha Ansari, wife of jailed former MLA Mukhtar Ansari. The inspector is famous by the name of Mir Wajid Ali. This property is situated in Saadatganj area of ​​the state capital. It was alleged that the property was sold to Afsha Ansari with the connivance of Inspector Muntazir Mehndi, despite being registered with the Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board.

The board has already sacked the mutawalli (caretaker) Abbas Ameer in this matter. Board chairman Ali Zaidi said that eight bighas out of 13 bighas of the property were sold to Afsha Ansari’s company Gloris Land Developer Private Limited in 2013 at the behest of the then chairman. The present Speaker had already started the proceedings by sacking the former Speaker’s special mutawalli (caretaker) Abbas Amir on charges of tampering with Waqf records. Amir also allegedly included the land of Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya in Daliganj in the waqf records through forgery.

Sent a letter to the District Magistrate for action

Board President Ali Zaidi removed this private property located in Daliganj from the Waqf records and returned it to its owner Anoop Goyal and Nandkishore Verma and informed the District Magistrate in this regard. The chairman said that a letter will be sent to the District Magistrate for action in the matter.
