Indigo has abolished fuel charges, air fare will be cheaper by Rs.

Ranchi: Indigo Airline has announced not to charge fuel charges on tickets from Thursday after the reduction in the prices of aviation fuel. With this, Indigo passengers will benefit up to Rs 1,000 depending on the distance. It may be noted that 21 Indigo aircraft fly daily from Ranchi to different cities. There are flights from Ranchi to Patna, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai and Delhi. Passengers traveling from Ranchi to Patna, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata have to travel less than 500 kilometers.

Therefore, tickets will be cheaper by Rs 300. At the same time, passengers traveling from Ranchi to Hyderabad, Lucknow and Delhi have to cover a distance of 501 to 1000 kilometers. Therefore, tickets will be cheaper by Rs 400. At the same time, passengers going to and from Ranchi to Chennai, Goa, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bengaluru have to cover a distance of 1001 to 1500 kilometers. Therefore, tickets will be cheaper by Rs 550.

According to the information, the airline started charging fuel duty from October 6, 2023 after the rise in the prices of ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel). The fuel charge was fixed at Rs 300 to Rs 1,000 depending on the distance. At the same time, the airline said that this decision has been taken after the recent reduction in the prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). According to the statement issued by Indigo, the prices of ATF keep fluctuating. Therefore, we will continue to adjust our fares and their components to respond to any changes in prices or market conditions.

Fuel fee was increased according to distance

An airline official said that if the flight distance was up to 500 kilometres, a fuel charge of Rs 300 was charged from each passenger. At the same time, the fuel charge was Rs 400 for distance 501-1,000 km, Rs 550 for 1001-1500 km, Rs 650 for 1501 to 2500 km and Rs 800 for 2501 to 3500 km. Whereas, for 3501 kilometers and above this amount was Rs 1000.
