Indian Railways has stopped the sale of platform tickets at New Delhi and Anand Vihar stations in view of the huge crowd on Diwali and Chhath Puja. Northern Railway has temporarily closed the sale of platform tickets at these two stations in Delhi from November 13 to 18 to control the extra rush of passengers and to control the crowd. However, only senior citizens, illiterate and persons coming to the stations to help women passengers etc. who are not able to protect themselves will be exempted from this restriction. Actually, the crowd of passengers in trains has increased during the festive season in the country. Due to the festival of Diwali and now Chhath, there is a lot of crowd of passengers at the railway stations. Meanwhile, as soon as the train going to Chhapra reached the station, there was a stampede among the passengers. Many passengers were injured after falling in the stampede. According to Railways, stopping the sale of platform tickets will provide convenience to the passengers. With this, incidents like Surat can be avoided at the station. There will be only those people traveling at the railway station. This will help a lot in controlling the crowd.
