Indian Railways: Work is being done to change the face of Varanasi Cantt Railway Station with 150 projects worth Rs 500 crore, which has started from Monday. After the completion of these schemes, there will be no delay in getting platforms for trains at Cantt Railway Station, which will make the journey of passengers pleasant.
If we talk about the operation of trains, 18 trains have been canceled and the route of many has been changed due to surrender of lines, non-interlocking work and lengthening of track ends etc. at Cantt Railway Station. This problem will continue for two months in September and October.

Begumpura Express will depart and terminate at Sultanpur from September 11 to October 16. Kashi Mahakal Express will depart and terminate from Sultanpur on 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28 September and 3, 5, 10 and 12 October. Varanasi-Ahmedabad Weekly Express will arrive and depart from Sultanpur on 16, 23, 30 September, 7, 14 October. Lucknow bound Shuttle (Varuna) Superfast Express will arrive and depart from Shivpur station from 11th September to 16th October. Marudhar Express will depart and terminate from Lucknow from 11th September to 15th October. Varanasi Station Lucknow Intercity Express will be operated from Lohta station from 20 September to 15 October.
Platforms will increase from 9 to 11 – ADRM
ADRM Lal Ji Chaudhary said that this is a project of Rs 568 crore, in which there are 150 projects. Under these projects the image of Banaras Cantt Railway Station will be changed. After the year 1994, the appearance of Cantt station has started changing. By completing this process, passengers are going to get a lot of benefits. The platforms here will increase from 9 to 11. With this, the length of the platform which is currently three, will become 11.
At present we have 12 running lines which will increase to 15. Currently we have only 2 lines for throwgoods, this will increase to 6. The number of washing lines at the station is four which will increase to 8. 39 pairs of trains will be canceled during these 45 days. Some trains will be run from different stations of Varanasi. Along with this, it will be operated from 14 other stations.
Let us tell you that for the last decade there was a demand for expansion and remodeling of Cantt Railway Station. Due to small yard and large number of trains, every day at least 21 trains used to get late in reaching the platform. In such a situation, after this change, passengers will get relief from this problem.
