Indian Railways: Relief news has come to the railway passengers traveling between Gorakhpur and Varanasi. Doubling of Bhatni-Audihar 125 km rail section of North Eastern Railway Varanasi Division is going on at a fast pace. As soon as it is completed in 2024, the journey from Varanasi to Gorakhpur will be completed in three hours. At present it takes six hours at present. Only 86 km of work is left in electrification and doubling. The work of construction of bridge and laying of railway track is also to be done between Saryu river. With its construction, trains will not get stuck between Bhatni-Aurihar.
Be informed that doubling and electrification of 70 km rail section between Gorakhpur and Bhatni has already been done. The work of 21 km between Kediharapur and Mau has also been completed. Aurihar-Sadat 18 km work has been completed in June 2023. According to Ashok Kumar, Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, the work of doubling between Bhatni-Audihar is going on fast. A target has been set to complete the work in 2024.
Railway’s income will increase
Once the work on the railway section is completed, transport on this route will increase significantly. Movement of goods trains will be easier. Goods and parcels of traders will be easily accessible within three to four hours. On Wednesday, ADRM Lalji Chaudhary and Cantt Director Gaurav Dixit inspected the passenger facilities at Shivpur station. During this, instructions were given to provide electricity, drinking water, toilets, waiting rooms, chairs, additional ticket counters and cleanliness of the station premises at the station. Instructed the officials that there should be no negligence in passenger facilities. The work of the second phase is starting from September 11.
Route changes for many trains
Due to yard remodeling and BNI, non-interlocking work at Varanasi Cantt station, Marudhar Express will now run from Pratapgarh. Whereas Varanasi-Lucknow Intercity will open from Shivpur station. Lucknow Intercity will run up and down from Shivpur station from 11 to 15 September.
11 trains going towards Gorakhpur will remain canceled
Now, due to work at Gorakhpur Cantt station of Lucknow division, more than ten long distance trains passing through Saharanpur have been cancelled. Due to work, Railways has taken mega block till 11th September. Due to this, many trains have been canceled while the routes of many have been diverted.
