chandrayaan-3 : Indian Space Research Organisation-ISRO has prepared to complete the difficult task of soft-landing of Vikram Lander module near the south pole of the Moon at 6.4 pm today under the Chandrayaan-3 mission. ISRO will have to gradually reduce the speed of the lander moving at a speed of about six thousand kilometers per hour for this task.

The lander will have to endure the impact of the lunar dust and it will have to change its position from horizontal to vertical. Scientists call this phase as the 15-minute crisis. The lander will have to overcome all these challenges before landing on the moon.

Chandrayaan-3

Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2, which demonstrated end-to-end capability of safe landing and roving on the lunar surface. This includes the lander and rover configuration.

Chandrayaan-3

Chandrayaan-3 consists of an indigenous Lander Module (LM), Propulsion Module (PM) and a Rover, aimed at developing and demonstrating new technologies required for interplanetary missions.

Chandrayaan-3

The lander will have the capability to soft land at a designated lunar site and deploy a rover that will perform in-situ chemical analysis of the lunar surface during its mobility.

Chandrayaan-3

The mission objective of Chandrayaan-3 is to demonstrate a safe and soft landing on the lunar surface, to demonstrate the rover’s visit to the Moon and to conduct scientific experiments in situ, the lander has several advanced technologies to achieve the mission objectives.
